Recently, I've seen a lot of warriors in PvP doing some sort of Circle Strafing while attacking.

They attack you, do 2 steps around you before they attack again, and keep doing that.

Can anyone explain me what purpose this has, because for me it seems just wasting time which could be used for attacking instead.

You are probably referring to people trying to do whats referred to as 'Chiizu Dancing' its in the sticky.

It works by allowing you to attack at full speed while alternating mouse clicks and space bar (which initiates the attack). It lets you guess the direction your opponent is going to attempt to run and ultimately makes it very easy to get moves such as bull's strike off and also works quite well in body blocking the individual, allowing you to wail on them until they figure out how to get around you.

About 9 posts down there is a thread called Chizzu Dancing. It is probably people trying to do that.

It's what happens when you tell people who can't play, how to play. They follow the instructions but they still can't play.
